Building... Celebrating... Living... For God through Christ!
At First Congregational Church of Meredith, it will be “Sundaes on Sunday” on September 12 from 1 to 3 pm, as the church opens its door and invites the community in.
Church leaders plan the open house for several reasons:to give visitors a chance to tour this historic facility, as a thank-you to townsfolk who have supported the recent steeple repair campaign and to emphasize the church’s place in the wider community.
Each visitor who takes a tour of the church will be entitled to a free sundae in fellowship hall.
Church staff and representatives of various church groups will be on hand to greet guests and explain church programs and services. Guests will be invited to view the beautiful sanctuary, the fellowship hall and the classrooms. The Sunday School staff will be on hand and Sunday School registration will be available. The congregation invites residents and visitors from the area to come and meet the people who worship beneath the tall white steeple.
With generous community support, the Meredith church has recently undertaken a $30,000 repair of the steeple, a historic town landmark.
The church is located off Main Street on Highland Street, near the Historical Society and municipal buildings. For further open house information, call 279-6271 between 9 am and noon weekdays.
The Women's Fellowship will meet Monday, September 20th at 1:30 PM.
